Owen Lars is Luke Skywalker's uncle, for his father, Cliegg married Shmi Skywalker, Anakin Skywalker's mother.
Shmi became Owen's step-mother which so happened to make Anakin his step-brother. So when Anakin married Padmé and had Luke
and Leia, Own became the uncle to both Leia and Luke Skywalker. Owen knew Obi-Wan Kenobi from when Luke was a baby. Since
Padmé had died and Anakin had turned Owen and his wife Beru Lars, were his closest relitives. Owen tried to hide the fact
that his father was a Jedi Knight hoping that Luke wouldn't become a Jedi and do the same mistakes his father had made. In
the end Luke became a Jedi. Owen had told Obi-Wan off because Obi-Wan also known as "Ben", tried to give Luke Anakin's lightsaber.
But Owen and Beru were killed by stormtroopers that were tring to find R2-D2 which traveld with C-3PO and happaned to be bought
by Owen. Luke ended up training to be a Jedi since he had no other family to go to.
One thing. If Luke had been given to some family on Padmé's side of the family, over half the stuff wouldn't happan in
the movies. Same thing with Leia.
